Thanks A-Plenty

Written by on November 8th 2019.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s a great time for us all to sit and reflect on the past year and count our blessings. Like a lot of good things in Spartanburg, they come A-Plenty. Our SYP Board got together and we wanted to share what we are thankful for with all of you.

Angela Heinrich- “Every morning, I wake up thankful for the opportunity to see another day. I am thankful to go to work every day to a job that allows me to utilize my current skills as well as develop new ones. I am also thankful for my very short commute into work! I am blessed to have wonderful friends and family located here in Spartanburg, and also friends and family located elsewhere that are great excuses for fun vacations. I am thankful for all the life experiences that brought me to this point in my life and for all the experiences I have not yet had.”

Cierra Fowler- “I’m thankful for life! The older I get the more thankful I am to still be able to experience life with amazing family, friends, and co-workers. Every morning I’m able to breath in the new day, I’m thankful!”

Daniel Craig- “I am thankful for many things God has blessed me with over the past year. I am thankful for my wife, my (now 4 year old!!) daughter, and for my family. I am thankful for friends, both new and old, and I am thankful to live, work, and play in a community that empowers young professionals to make a difference. I am thankful for my SYP family and all of the wonderful accomplishments of SYP over the past year!”

Greg Embry- “I’m thank for all of my family. I’m thankful for life, health, and strength. I’m thankful for friendships and other solid relationships. I’m thankful for all experiences, I’ve tried to gain wisdom and knowledge from them all. I’m thankful that God continues to be who He is for me and others who believe.”

Greyson Furnas-This time of year, I am always reminded that there are many things to be thankful for. I am thankful for my family (& pup), friends, and the community around me. I am thankful for the kindness of others and opportunities to learn something new. I find it very beneficial to take some time around this part of the year to reflect on opportunities of gratitude, as well as, finding opportunities to share that gratitude with others.”

Hunter Brown- “I’m thankful for being a dad (of three!) and a husband. No matter what I achieve professionally, those are the two titles I enjoy the most. I’m thankful to be living in a constantly evolving community that allows for all voices to be heard. I am also thankful for SYP because it has allowed me to meet so many wonderful people who have turned into friends, colleagues, and partners.”

Jared Singleton- “I’m thankful for the opportunity to live in a country where I can freely worship and believe in God. I’m thankful for my family and the friends that I have in my life. I’m thankful for the impact and ability I have to change lives and make others smile and feel encouraged. And lastly, I’m thankful for living in a community that promotes inclusion, opportunity, and diversity.”

John Mauney- “I am thankful for a loving family and great friends to share this life with. I am thankful for a career that allows me to do what I love doing while helping people at the same time. I am thankful for good health that allows me to live life to the fullest each and every day.”

Meredith Lindsey- “I am very thankful for my wonderful family and my husband. I am also thankful for my amazing job and coworkers. They are a constant source of support and kindness. I am also thankful that I have the time to volunteer with many nonprofit organizations that help make Spartanburg a better place. And finally, I’m thankful to grow up and live in a city as special as Spartanburg.”
