Aksel Wagner: SYP Board Chair (‘25-’27)
Aksel Wagner is a strategic and visionary leader with a proven track record of driving innovation, operational excellence, and team empowerment inside Foam Insulation Company's workplace. With over 8 years of experience leading high-performing teams in the construction industry, Aksel blends a style of consistent analytical rigor with a people-first approach to deliver sustainable growth and transformative results. Having first been involved in Spartanburg Young Professionals on the Development committee and then rising to Treasurer in 2021 only highlights the commitment to growing SYP to make sure Young Professionals are at the forefront of the engine of change happening in Spartanburg.
Marilyn Nguyen: SYP Engagement Chair (‘24-’26)
Marilyn Nguyen is the Strategic Partnerships and Opportunities Manager for the City of Spartanburg, where she leads strategic initiatives to address economic mobility, community engagement, and organizational culture/structure. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Marilyn is the daughter to two immigrant parents and is a first generation college student. With a passion for public service and a degree in International Relations and Economics from Lehigh University, she is dedicated to working with community to achieve fair, sustainable, and impactful outcomes for all Spartanburg residents.

She excels in crafting corporate brand messaging and developing integrated campaign strategies that resonate across diverse markets. With a specialization in marketing strategy, campaign execution, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, Liz brings a strategic edge to her role.
